About Us
Background:
The company was born from a love of woodworking and a desire
to create beautiful and lasting furniture. We bring quality
craftsmanship back into your home. All work is constructed
either entirely of hardwoods, or of solid plywood with hardwood
veneer. Our service area includes the entire Portland/Vancouver
metro area.
Construction Details:
By using only the finest materials, we create lasting heirlooms;
no chipboard products are ever used in our construction.
Antique furniture endures for so long due to the quality materials
and joinery used. All our work should last at least a lifetime
with reasonable care. Although we won't be the cheapest bid
in town, you should never need to replace any product
we make due to premature failure of any construction detail. Wood is hand picked for grain, stability and
beauty and aligned during laminations to remove unwanted movement
over time. Doors are typically mission style or raised
panel
construction, although any style is available. All drawers feature full extension
slides rated for 100 pound loads, and carry a lifetime
guarantee. European concealed hinges are used on all
doors for their great adjustability and clean designs.
Only one project at a time is built in order to control
quality at the highest level, rather than being a production
shop geared for speed.
About Dave:
My love of woodworking began in my early teens and grew over
time to my current passion. After doing extensive work to
remodel our first home in Portland over a six year span, I discovered
my real passion was woodworking.
There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a happy customer
with something I have had the pleasure of building. In a way,
it gives others an important part of myself that will last
both our lives - this is a unique gift to the craftsman. Our
two dogs are also very helpful for consultations, barking
and shedding profusely.
